My name is Ira/Iris, but over the years I’ve become so connected to my name Freya that many people know me simply as Freya.
I’ve been in photography for over 20 years, have completed more than 1,000 shoots in the tropics, and have been photographing in Zanzibar for my fifth year now. I’m in love with this island and know its light, how to work with the ocean, the tides, the weather, and the best locations and conditions for a shoot.
You don’t need to know how to pose, research locations, or keep track of the tides — I’ll take care of everything and guide you throughout the shoot.
I’ll also help you choose your outfits and, if you wish, offer something from my own collection.

One location doesn’t mean just one backdrop. Within the same location, we use different areas and natural settings: the ocean, sand, palm trees, rocks, shade and more.
I prefer not to waste your time travelling between locations, but to use it for the actual photoshoot. And after working on this island for so long, I can confidently say: your photos won’t be repetitive.

Oasis

Ocean escape
- Photoshoot on a white yacht in the ocean (photo, video, drone)
- 1.5 hours of shooting + 1.5 hours of free time
- 3+ outfits
- 4 reels in 4K up to 30 seconds each, including drone footage when the weather allows
- (all original drone clips available upon request — same day)
- 200+ photos with my signature color grading and light skin retouch
- The session will take place in one of the island’s marine areas, with the exact location determined by the tides.
- Photo and video delivery within 7 days.

Please note that detailed photo or video retouching is not included in my service packages. Most of my clients choose not to have retouching, and the vast majority of photos in my portfolio feature only my signature color grading.
I have completely stopped offering retouching in favor of natural beauty and promoting women’s self-love, a message I have been passionately advocating for years.
You are still welcome to order detailed retouching for any number of photos — the cost is 5 EUR per photo.
How it works:
- You send me your travel dates and your location on the island.
- If I have an available date, you secure it with a deposit.
- The remaining balance is paid on the shooting day in cash — euros, dollars, or Tanzanian shillings.
- We discuss your outfit, and I help you choose what will look best on camera.
- We confirm the location and possible alternatives.
- The day before your session, I message you to reconfirm everything.
- On the shooting day, a taxi picks you up and brings you to the location — or I meet you at your hotel, depending on the plan.
- At the location, we go through a simple plan: drone, photos, videos, water shots at the end.
- During the shoot, I guide you fully — where to look, how to stand, how to move. You don’t need any experience; I help you look natural, elegant, confident, and beautiful in every frame.
- The next day, I send you all the previews (small size with a watermark) so you can choose your favourites for my signature color grading. If you prefer not to choose — I can do it for you.
- Within 7 days after your selection, you receive your final photos in a private online gallery (available for 1 month).
- Within 10 days, you receive your final videos via Google Drive link.
- Your photos stay in my archive for 1 year and your videos for 2–3 months — if you ever lose the files, just message me and I’ll resend them.
